Amuse Logo

Amuse, a new lifestyle concept store, will be opening its doors to the public with a cocktail reception on October 20th, at 8pm.  Located in Zamalek, the ‘It’ location for Cairo’s boutiques, Amuse will carry everything from ready-to-wear, fashion accessories, home accessories to giftware.  Named after the muses of fashion, Amuse hopes to create a haven that will both inspire fashion muses and inspire the store as well.

Expect to find brands such as Hotel Particulier, Queen of E.vil, Voom, Cecilia de Bucourt, OTT, Asli Filinta, Fiona Paxton Jewelry, House of Harlow and more.  You can find home accessories by Alchemy and the beyond cool Boho candles, books and great gifts.  The most exciting part of it all, they will be carrying the Fashion Rules! board game.  For obsessed ladies like us, this is THE board game to play for a girls night in!

We will bring you more from the cocktail reception and hope to see you there!  Below is the invite.

Photo Boutique has teamed up with Les Fleurs de Tuline for the photo shoot of her new collection.  Imagine being taken into a modern-day hippie/bohemian fantasy world.  Hair accessories always add personality to an outfit whether you’re a hippie or an upper east side girlie girl.  While the new collection is awesome, we are really looking forward to the fall hair accessories.  Imagine thick knit headbands with pom poms or furry accents.

And to all you brides out there, I just heard Les Fleurs de Tuline is now custom-making bridal headbands!

Fall is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited!  With a fall season full of amazing trends and collections, giving a comeback to our ‘trend’ posts, we chose to start off with one of our favorites, the boxy bag.  Why first? Because you can wear it starting now, it isn’t like a chunky knit in the Cairo September heat.

The boxy bag has been around, we even trended it in April 09; click here for the post.  This time around, the bags have a more classic and vintage feel so say au revoir to the oversized slouchy bag and hello boxy bag.

This polished Marni bag is the perfect shade of red!

The Fendi Classico is a classic boxy bag but the animal print keeps the bag hip despite its vintage shape.

This Alexander Wang quilted black leather boxy clutch, with vintage gold hardware, is to die for.

To top it all off, the master of all bags, that is Chanel, has surprised us yet again.  With jaw-dropping chunks of icebergs from Scandinavia on the runway, the least we could expect is the most innovative boxy bag of the season, an iceberg inspired bag!

STREETSTYLE

Just because the bag is polished doesn’t necessarily have to translate into a clean cut look. We love the idea of wearing this classic Celine bag with a modern take of the fair isle cardigan for a more casual look.

Make a statement with a quirky boxy bag, whether you’re into leopards, polka dots, or stripes.  We especially love the tassle touch!

A boxy bag doesn’t have to be small in size.  You can find a boxy satchel which will work perfectly for uni, work, or running errands during the day.

If you don’t want to spend any money, dig through your mother’s wardrobe and you are sure to find a chic vintage boxy bag.

At Uterque, a brand full of outstanding accessories, we were bound to find unique yet trendy boxy bags.  These two bags are completely different from one another but will accentuate this fall’s neutral colors.

This little bag is perfect for a night out about town.  It’ll add a kick to a simple dress or jeans and a tank.

Accessories are an essential part of an outfit and they are becoming more and more so every day.  With many designers and brands opting for the more simple silhouettes and plain palettes these past few seasons, due to the lackluster global economy, accessories are proving to be vital.  You can change the look of an outfit from day to night by simply changing your accessories.  It creates versatility and personality.  You can define your style with your accessories.  Rocker chicks like studded cuffs and chokers, girly girls opt for flowers and pearls and some, like me, like to change it up. I wanted to introduce you to 2 really cool accessories stores in City Stars, in addition to an awesome place to find VINTAGE SHADES!

I am now officially obsessed with UTERQÜE, a Spanish brand from the same company behind Zara.  It opened in City Stars Phase 2, across from Boss and Longchamp above Karen Millen.  The store carries so many awesome accessories from shoes and bags to scarves, earnings, necklaces and rings.  You will definitely find statement pieces to spice up your outfit.  Below are pictures of their Spring/Summer Lookbook, creatively shot taking my fixation even further.  Not all items are in store though but trust me, it is worth a visit!  You’ll become just as obsessed as I am.
