Fall is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited!  With a fall season full of amazing trends and collections, giving a comeback to our ‘trend’ posts, we chose to start off with one of our favorites, the boxy bag.  Why first? Because you can wear it starting now, it isn’t like a chunky knit in the Cairo September heat.

The boxy bag has been around, we even trended it in April 09; click here for the post.  This time around, the bags have a more classic and vintage feel so say au revoir to the oversized slouchy bag and hello boxy bag.

RUNWAY

This polished Marni bag is the perfect shade of red!

The Fendi Classico is a classic boxy bag but the animal print keeps the bag hip despite its vintage shape.

This Alexander Wang quilted black leather boxy clutch, with vintage gold hardware, is to die for.

To top it all off, the master of all bags, that is Chanel, has surprised us yet again.  With jaw-dropping chunks of icebergs from Scandinavia on the runway, the least we could expect is the most innovative boxy bag of the season, an iceberg inspired bag!

STREETSTYLE

Just because the bag is polished doesn’t necessarily have to translate into a clean cut look. We love the idea of wearing this classic Celine bag with a modern take of the fair isle cardigan for a more casual look.

Make a statement with a quirky boxy bag, whether you’re into leopards, polka dots, or stripes.  We especially love the tassle touch!

A boxy bag doesn’t have to be small in size.  You can find a boxy satchel which will work perfectly for uni, work, or running errands during the day.

If you don’t want to spend any money, dig through your mother’s wardrobe and you are sure to find a chic vintage boxy bag.

LOCAL FINDS

Chalons – 36, Kasr el Nile St., Immobilia Building

We’d like to start off our local finds with our best; Chalons, a shop we came across in West el Balad, Kasr el Nil in specific, which carries some of the best vintage looking bags.  The collection is vast, with shades of brown and black from clutches and cross-body bags to satchels.  The leather is great quality and we suggest you pay them a visit.

Uterque – City Stars Phase 2 next to Massimo Dutti and across from Boss

At Uterque, a brand full of outstanding accessories, we were bound to find unique yet trendy boxy bags.  These two bags are completely different from one another but will accentuate this fall’s neutral colors.

This little bag is perfect for a night out about town.  It’ll add a kick to a simple dress or jeans and a tank.
