The neutral shades this summer are a huge hit!  They are perfect for avoiding the BOILING summer heat and are a staple in one of this summer’s runway trend, SAFARI.  It doesn’t have to be BORING, you don’t have to look like a camp leader or an army major.  The neutral color scheme is calming and mixes well with each other.  The cremes, browns, and light greys.

Take a cue from this stylish girl who added a hint of color, a bright blue scarf, to her all neutral outfit or from this stylish guy who chose to wear bright orange shoes!

Another savvy way to wear this trend is to mix and match girly with edgy, as worn by Taylor Momsen.

For the simpler look, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, and Albertus Swanepoel ALSO designed an all neutral line for Gap’s Design Editions series.

If you plan to wear a lot of the same shade, layer it up or play with different textures

Summer beauty is all about protection, protection, protection! Yes the summer calls for sexy tans, colorful outfits, and gorgeous sunglasses, but we tend to forget how harsh it can be on our skin and hair.  The daily ritual you must not neglect (repeat, must not) is wash, tone, moisturize, and protect. The sun’s UV rays and pollution, dust & sand that we face every day (esp. here is Egypt) can block pores, dehydrate skin, and accelerate wrinkle development (and who wants that?). We found these great must-have products around Cairo that will do the job, plus a few great make-up items that can’t be missed!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash

After trying many cleansers throughout the years, we have come to the conclusion that Neutrogena really makes them best. They are gentle on the skin yet cleanse deep down into the pores, and doesn’t leave your face completely dry afterwards.

Clinique Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer

1. Chanel Les Tissages de Chanel Blush

Chanel is a pioneer when it comes to make-up, so we had to give a shout out to their Les Tissages de Chanel range of blushes that come in four delicately glimmering two-toned shades. Not only do the shades give the perfect summery glow, the imprinted surface looks like Chanel’s iconic woven tweed fabric!

2. Chanel Nail Le Vernis Nail Color 165 Organdy

We love this shade! Chanel generally makes some of the best nail polish colors, and this one is the perfect color for the summer. Very girly, lots of fun, and great with a tan!

3. Rimmel Special Eyes Eyeliner

Your first option when choosing an eyeliner for the summer is to get one that is waterproof – they usually stay on longer before starting to melt away. We have tried everything (literally), and we always came back to Rimmel. It isn’t waterproof and it just stays on, ALL DAY!

4.  Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara

Summer means beach and beauty. But it’s hard to mix the two when the heat and sea make our make-up melt and slide all over our faces. The answer: Waterproof. This Chanel mascara is like a magic stick; it gives volume, length, curl, and separation and because it is waterproof you can rest assured your gorgeous lashes will stay that way.

5. Guerlain Terracotta Blush & Sun Sheer Bronzing Blush

We can all agree that one of the best bronzing make-up lines is Guerlain’s Terracotta. We like their Blush & Sun Sheer Bronzing Blush for its pearly shades that, by the way, are made especially for tanned complexions. They bring the perfect sunny glow to our already sun kissed cheeks.
